Ringier Studios Has a New Owner

The rich-media boutique Ringier Studios Zurich / Vietnam has a new owner in Fritz Kaiser. The Liechtensteiner entrepreneur and investor has bought Ringier Studios from Ringier.

Effective 1 April 2013, Ringier Studios is a Liechtenstein company. The company with headquarters in Zurich and a production and programming centre in Saigon, Vietnam, has been acquired 100% by Fritz Kaiser, the wealth management entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist. Mr. Kaiser is co-founder and Executive Chairman of Kaiser Partner Group, which provides services in wealth and asset management for wealthy private customers and family offices.  Kaiser Partner employs 220 persons in Vaduz and Zollikon and manages approx. 25 billion Swiss francs in assets.

Fritz Kaiser has been dealing with the structural change, which the Internet is causing, for quite some time. He can see how it is changing complete industries very quickly and is convinced that digital product visions and digital design are playing an increasingly big role: “E-commerce and e-knowledge are the new winners. We buy books, tickets and clothes via the Internet and can always obtain information everywhere and conveniently on our mobile terminals.” He sees great creative potential in the digital design area with Ringier Studios.

Ringier Studios sets new standards with its apps, webpages and interactive advertising media. The boutique won the “Best Design Award” with the tablet app “Swiss Re Flood Risk” at the Swiss App Awards in Zurich on 7 February of this year. The existing business model is now to be developed further and broadened. The market potential for tablet applications is still in its infancy. Ringier Studios provides modern, interactive content applications to companies as well as to public and cultural institutions.

As previous owner of the start-up Ringier Studios, Ringier is very pleased that a new owner, who wants to take full advantage of this market potential for third-party customers, has been found for the young company. Ringier CEO Marc Walder: “Fritz Kaiser is an entrepreneur with an impressive track record. His vision is to use digital applications on mobile terminals in the area of financial services too. Ringier Studios is going to profit from Mr. Kaiser’s entrepreneurial know-how.” Marc Walder has been named to the supervisory board of Ringier Studios.

The parties agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.
